What is the best way to get around Victoria BC on a 2 day trip, bring a car or use public transportation?

We will be there May 13th through 16th and are considering taking our car via the ferry from Port Angeles, WA. Is there parking for our car in Port Angeles? How reliable and frequent is public transportation in Victoria? What is the best way to get around Victoria BC on a 2 day trip, bring a car or use public transportation?
Walking is good for Victoria. A majority of the hotels and a majority the attractions are within the downtown area and Inner Harbour. These places, aren't worth taking a car as you have to worry about parking. The two big things outside of that area I can think of are the casino - that has a free shuttle bus, a Buchard Gardens - that you can take a bus tour of. But, that is a half day to full day event in itself. If you are going on a 2 day trip, Buchard would then be half your plans, verses sticking around the Innner Harbour and doing several other things.

And yes. Public transportation is great in Victoria. Most routes leave from downtown. The average is 15 to 30 minutes between buses. Longer routes aren't as well covered, or in off periods.

One of the ferry FAQ says there are several lots near the terminal, and parking ranges from $5 to $9 per day. What is the best way to get around Victoria BC on a 2 day trip, bring a car or use public transportation?
Transit is pretty good, but I would still recommend taking the car to go see things outside The city like parks etc. What is the best way to get around Victoria BC on a 2 day trip, bring a car or use public transportation?
Public transportation is abundant, Walking is preferable , especially along the inner harbour, but outside of Victoria Itself, you might want to see Butchart Gardens or other places that require a car.
