If not I wonder what Cop cars will use once their Ford Crown Vics wear out?Is Ford still building the Crown Victoria for Police Cruisers only?
the crown vic has been produced from 1955-present, 1992-present for law enforcement agencies.
no they are no longer making crown vics as police interceptors the new vehicles they are using are the new 2011 ford explorer and i have no clue of the exact model of the sedan version but heres the ford website for their police vehicles

Please I need Help! Legal issue with used Car Warranty?? ?
I bought a used car on the 5 aug. I had it home 2 days when it broke down. I paid 750$ To get it towed and the starter motor fixed, Had it home I day and now it's blown up.
My Dad and Aunt have both bought vehicles from the same dealer and not had any problems with them, when I bought the car he gave me the receipt to sign and it had ticked at the bottom no warranty, he said all our cars are sold like this.
I have just searched consumer affairs website and it states is you buy a car from a licensed motor trader they have to give you a statutory 5000k or 3 month warranty on used cars less than 10yrs old and 160,000ks my car is a 2002 hyundai with 109,000ks on it.
Please help I am a single mum I can't afford to pay for a motor rebuild as it is I had to borrow the money for the towing and the starter.
Is the receipt I signed legal? If the warranty there meant to give is statutory?
I'm in Victoria, Australia
Any positive advise would be a god-send
I'm gutted and broke!

If the law says he has to give you a warranty, then the receipt is not legal. Call the consumer affairs people to find out for sure. Then go to the dealer and tell him you know the law is with you. He might be willing to deal with you instead of spending a day in court because if he is not, that's what you'd have to do, sue him in small claims court. Please I need Help! Legal issue with used Car Warranty?? ?
If the signerature was a contract of some sort, in America that's bad news. But if you know all that information take it down their and tell them. If not, maybe get a court appointed lawyer or call a lawyer and ask if you have the legal right away. That's awfully rediculous it breaks after 3 days and I think they're fully liable for it. I don't know much about cars mate, but I do know that business is business and if what you say is law in Aus, then take that to them and tell them they better just get off there **** n' do something about it.
ALSO check the contract you originally signed when you got the cart and read over that real good, make sure that there wasn't some clause you missed.

How much does a used a/c compressor cost?
so the compressor has been locked up since i've had the car which is two years its a 1995 ford crown victoria police car so if i put a used one on there and charge it with oil and some stop leak just for insurance and a couple of cans of 134a whats the possibility of it working because the lady told me it was locked up when i first bought the carHow much does a used a/c compressor cost?
um not really worth the risk of buying a used compressor.....
and even if u do u have to have the system vacuumed down so that it will accept the freon in order to work....
shops usually charge about 50 bucks to vacuum system......
u need new compressor and new orfice tube minimum if ur going to fix it...also u need to use new o-rings and seals on every joint u have to open....How much does a used a/c compressor cost?
why get a head ache do it right and have it done professionally why used parts that is so ghetto you should take the short bus for that question its like 300 plus labor for ac compressor

How do police cars get selected?
Most are Crown Victoria, but in Ontario I see Dodge Chargers and other ones. How does one police officer get to drive a Charger, and another a Victoria? Can a police officer use his own vehicle to get made into a car?How do police cars get selected?
good cars goes to the left line the weak cars go to the right line never to be seen againHow do police cars get selected?
Police officers cannot get their own personal vehicles made into police cars. It depends on the deal that a certain car maker gives the police dept. It can change each year. Many of our cars are Chevys now, but we just got a new contract with Ford to get new Crown Vics. How do police cars get selected?
Different police agencies across the U.S. and Canada have different commitee's that pick the cars. Most of the police agencies consider price and interior room as the major factors. Police cars need a roomy interior (dash area) that will put all the equiptment in easy reach of the driver. e.g. radios, MDT (computer), siren and lights. Unfortunely many police agencies do not consider safety as a high priority when choosing cars. The highway patrol cars are normally picked by speed and price. Many California police agencies order cars with high performance suspension, transmissions and engines. Arizona uses a lot of cars that they take from criminals, so they have many different types of polices cars and colors. Hard to spot also. lol
No, they cant use their own cars to be made into police cars. They have to be D.O.T. approved emergency vehicles.
I hope this helped.
We have all Crown Vics and one Charger in my district. The newer cars are assigned to beats, the beat officer gets that car. We have a number of older cars that are relief cars, if a beat car isn't available they get one of those. I have never seen a department where officers get to use their own cars but a large SO in New Mexico used to let officers choose their take-home car from a number of makes and models, and they received a monthly allocation to make the car payment. My department lets motor officers do something similar and they have Harley's, Honda's and BMW's.civilization 4 iv utah weather

Is a crown victoria a good car?
for my first car(i do not have one yet and am in high school) i was thinking about getting a used Ford Crown Victoria. i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on them and if they get good mileage, how well they hold up, how safe they are(i know that is kind of a weird question) and if you could tell me any other things about them? I am thinking about getting one because i assume they are safe, they are cheap to buy, and i live close to this place that sells old crown vics and other old police cars. i am not going to put lights or use it to impersonate police, so i was wondering if it would be a good first car or not? thanks! Is a crown victoria a good car?
Theyre alright as long as youre not getting one from someone who treated it like a race car. They handle fairly well, its all about how you feel in it.Is a crown victoria a good car?
My Crown Vic has 280,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. I had to replace the radiator and a crossmember. In ten years, that's the only repairs. I'm driving mine til it drops. Is a crown victoria a good car?
no

How come the police version of the Ford Crown Victoria are taxi's? (See below)?
So I was in Chicago yesterday and I notcied a taxi. It was a ford crown victoria. I noticed the "Police interceptor" badge on the rear of the taxi. Then I saw that lightbulb on the drivers side thats above the rearview mirror. Why would a taxi have one of those lights on their cars that police use for finding fleeing-foot suspects? COuld this have been a donated car that was previously a taxi? How come the police version of the Ford Crown Victoria are taxi's? (See below)?
Because the Police Interceptors are built with heavy duty components (suspension, engine, cooling, etc.). Rather than having Ford build a separate model for taxi service, they just used PI models. I don't think the spotlights are really used, they just come on the PI models.
Tough car, easy to fix, tons of room, and a used Police car, maybe only 2 years old, are relatively cheap. Plus, at Police auctions, you can buy ten or fifteen of them at once. How come the police version of the Ford Crown Victoria are taxi's? (See below)?
Because Police Departments only use their cars for so long. Then they are auctioned off. Taxi companies like to buy them because they... Are cheap,Very Reliable, and they know the previous owner most likely followed the maintenance schedule.
probably retired car sold at auction and taxi co bought itHow come the police version of the Ford Crown Victoria are taxi's? (See below)?
ok what alot of ppl dont know is cab co. the drivers and there cars are contracted out. like take for instance yellow cab as long as my car is some what economic i can be contracted to be a driver for them. when i left houston tx my cab to the airport was was a yellow cab it was a chrysler 300c on 24's with flip down tv's and a sound system. i said all that cuz almost any car can be a cab
